To give your Cub jungle openings and closings an even more special feeling, ask one of your parents to build an imitation moon. These are simple and economical to construct. It is basic wooden box with a crescent moon cut out. Ours is 18" x 18" x 6" and is constructed of 1/4" plywood. The inside of the back is painted white for a superior effect. The outside of the box is varnished. Ensure the front and sides of the box are light proof. The back can be removeable for servicing. Place a couple of metal hangers on the back so it can hung on the wall. A compact fluorescent light bulb is recommended to avoid problems with overheating. Connect at least 25' of lamp cord, as you never know where an electrical outlet may be located. Note that our handle doubles as a winding location for the lamp cord. Turn off the lights, and watch the magic.
