Beaver Etiquette

The Beaver Law:
Beavers have fun, work hard, and help their families and friends.

The Beaver Motto:
Sharing, Sharing, Sharing

The Beaver Promise:
I promise to love God and to help take care of the world.

Investing Beavers:
Beavers need to have a good understanding of their Law, Motto and Promise in order to be invested as an Eager Beaver. When a Beaver is invested, they will receive their Colony necker.

Joining Beavers:
When Beavers join the Colony, they join as Kits. Once they are invested, they become Eager Beavers.
There are three tails within the Colony, Brown, Blue and White. White Tails are our Senior Beavers. At the end of the year, White Tail Beavers Swim-up to become Tender Pads. At this point, they should no longer wear their Beaver uniform and they will be invited to attend some appropriate Cub meetings.

Our Pond:
Beavers love the water. However, our meetings are done out of the water around our Pond. Our Beavers will first meet on the River Banks. By this, the Beavers will form two lines representing river banks. Once our river banks are established, we will build the dam. This is done by closing the ends of the river banks furthest from our Big Beaver (Leader in Charge).

At our pond, we make use of Keeos. A Keeo is a very special Cub who will join the Beaver Colony. Keeos help prepare Beavers for their swim-up to Cubs.

Hands Up!
Whenever Leaders put their hands up, all Beavers need to STOP what they are doing and put their hands up too. By having all Beavers cooperate quickly, we can proceed with the program. If Beavers are noisy and not paying attention, they will miss out of a lot of fun!

A Typical Meeting consists of a combination of these elements, although not every element is included at every meeting:
Gathering Activity (game or craft)
Opening Ceremony
Story Time
Craft Time
Activity Time
Game Time
Time for Reflection
Closing Ceremony.
