Our spring Cub camp had a pirate & Swiss Family Robinson theme. The Cubs first painted pirate t-shirts and a couple of pirate flags. Then there was jousting on a slippery pole and sword fighting on hale bales. Lunch was made by cooking hog dogs inside a burning milk carton. A dark maze was made with hay bales. The Cubs then made stick pirates by lashing bamboo canes, these were then crushed with a log rolling booby trap. A small war occured with coconut bombs (film canisters, water, and alkaseltzer). The Cubs built a fort with hay bales and there was a night time attack try to get gold coins. A firework display (from a cannon) and sling shots finished off the weekend. |
