Glider Building

From 1st Richmond Cubs.
All finished!
Akela is ready to help with construction - or repair, depending on how your first flight worked out...

Chil was the inspiration behind building these gliders - and look at him build those wings!

Alright, everybody got all the pieces they need?
1st Richmond is lucky to have a strong Scout troop. Senior Scouts volunteer time as a "Kim", helping the Cub leadership team with the Cubbing program.
It's important to make sure that the wing "fabric" is well-stretched, so that the glider will fly far and true.
A heat gun or hair dryer is the perfect tool for the job. But you have to make sure of your technique - too much heat and you'll melt the fabric!
This is really what it's all about - High Flight!
