Whispering Pines is a 21 acre wilderness camp with 13 permanent camp sites, kybos, and an excellent well. There is an open area for games, a great campfire area, and a peaceful spot under the pine trees for quiet relaxation or as an ideal place for a Scouts own. It is situated on pristine Otty lake. The swimming is excellent as the beach gradually slopes to deeper water.
Start at the camp and paddle down Otty lake to Jebbs creek, portage a couple of beaver dams and then on to the Tay river system that will take you to Christie lake or to the Rideau system.
As an added attraction the Rideau trail runs past the camp gate, combine this with trails on the camp property and adjacent Rideau Valley Conservation mica mines and you have an excellent chance to test your hiking skills.
The address of the camp is 285 Long Lake Road.
The camp is operated by the Valley Highlands area.
Valley Highlands groups have pre-allocated campsites when they are at the camp.
